Drama at TRC hearings, Sundaygar Dearboy and others accused of Rape and Murder.....................

Liberia's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) held its first public hearings Tuesday, in an attempt to shed light on crimes committed during Liberia's 14 years of brutal civil war which ended in 2003. But the shocker of the hearings came when David Sarweh, a 22-year old student, accused Sudaygar Dearboy one of Liberia's famous singer of the gang-rape of his sister, when the singer was the commander of the group fighting for the national patriotic front of Liberia that came to his village.The case aginst Sundaygar was backed up by two others against him, Paul Flomo told the hearings that the singer beat his father to death, and one Emmanuel Johnny said the singer raped his daughter in his presence.Around 300 people, including the President, several ministers and diplomats,where at Tuesday's initial hearings. More followed proceedings at home on live TV and state radio. The public hearings are expected to last until the end of July this year, Under the terms of its remit, the commission will then submit a detailed report to the government which will then decide whether to pursue any official charges.
